I am the pastor of Pleasant View United Methodist in Pleasant View. I first started by being a part of the coordinating of the Sycamore High Flood Shelter. When the Red Cross no longer needed us there we heard about the Donation Center being started. I stopped by and met Chris Neese, the Cheatham Chamber of Commerce director. He had been asked to find space to house supplies that would be donated for flood relief. I asked if he needed help and I have been there ever since. Soon it became apparent that we would be doing that and much more.  Flood survivors started coming in for supplies and help while donations from a giving community were stocking our shelves. Many of the volunteers who had staffed the shelter came along as well. Now the Donation Center has become a Distribution Center as we have continued to help people in need also coordinate volunteers to help in neighborhoods. Our hope is that all the time and effort put in by our volunteers will help in some small way to bring hope to those in despair.
